Canva Cheat Sheet
🛠️ The Locking Legend
When you select an element and click the Lock icon (top right toolbar), you have two distinct levels of protection:
* Lock (Full Lock): The element cannot be moved, edited, or deleted. It is completely static.
* Lock Position Only: The element can be edited (change text, swap colors), but it cannot be moved or resized. This is the gold standard for templates.
💡 Pro Tip: The “Pencil” Icon
When you lock a group or an element, you will see a Pencil icon or a Lock icon floating near the element.
* Lock icon: Full lock.
* Pencil icon: Restricted editing (usually means the position is locked, but content is editable).

📐Alignment & Layout Hacks
To keep your templates looking professional and symmetrical:
* The Tidy Up Tool: Select multiple messy elements, go to Position > Tidy Up to instantly space them evenly.
* Rulers & Guides: Press Shift + R to toggle rulers. Click and drag from the ruler onto your canvas to set a guide.
* Quick Alignment: Select an element and use the Position menu to snap it to the “Middle,” “Center,” or “Bottom” of the page.
✨ Design Workflow Checklist
* Check the Layers: Open the Layers panel (Position > Layers) to see what is on top. This is the easiest way to find and lock hidden background elements.
* Color Palette Consistency: Use the “Change All” button at the bottom of the color sidebar to instantly update every instance of a specific color across your entire document.
